Learn the 7 essential skills of the blacksmith - drawing, flaring, upsetting, punching, splitting, bending, and forge welding - as you shape hot metal into tools and works of art using fire, hammer and anvil. Learn the properties of steel, the proper use of your tools and the ancient techniques of forging hot iron as you craft a complete set of traditional hearth tools.
This is an intensive, comprehensive course that provides a solid foundation for further study. No experience required.
Two-and-a-half Days . Class begins 4pm Friday, 8-5 Sat/Sun.
All tools, materials, safety equipment and catered lunch are included.
