Bladesmith II - The Chef Knife

  • Douglas Morlock Blacksmith 82 Main St Warkworth Canada (map)

Balance and precision are the qualities of a good kitchen knife - in this two-day introduction to stainless steel you will design, grind and polish your own Chef’s knife, suitable for daily use in the kitchen or for display as a work of art.

Working independently under close instruction, you will learn to work stainless steel though grinding, finishing, and heat treating; you will absorb the knowledge of metallurgy, blade design, steel selection and sharpening as you complete your own presentation-quality kitchen blade, handled in exotic hardwoods and honed to a razor edge.

“I’m amazed that it was so easy, I had no idea how much effort went into a knife!” - Katryn

“I bought my wife a full set of Henkels, but now this is the only knife she uses” - Mike
